Through my music and years of dedicated service to the community, I have had the privilege of connecting with and inspiring countless individuals. With the release of my memoir, Roots & Reckoning, I extend that journey through the power of story—inviting others to embrace their own experiences, find strength in what has shaped them, and believe in the stories they carry.
I believe every life is shaped by stories—those we inherit, those we tell ourselves, and those we choose to rewrite. I am an author, speaker, facilitator, and storyteller exploring the intersections of family legacy, identity, resilience, and the ongoing process of becoming. Through my memoir, writing, speaking, and conversations, I invite others to reflect on what has shaped them and to choose, with intention, what they will carry forward.
At the heart of my work is a desire to preserve truth, honor resilience, and bridge the space between remembrance and becoming. I write to understand how the past—its wounds, wisdom, and wonders—shapes who we are today. Through my family’s stories and my own, I explore the possibility that healing is not about forgetting what was lost, but reclaiming what endures: courage, faith, and
self-discovery.
Music is another expression of that storytelling. Since 2009, with my band BluSoul, we have captivated audiences across Northern California through performances rooted in the rich traditions of R&B, Jazz, and Blues. Blending raw emotion, musical legacy, and storytelling, I use music to create moments of connection that transcend the performance itself.
For more than a decade, I served as an executive coach to CEOs, leadership teams, and direct-service professionals, helping leaders navigate complexity, strengthen relationships, and lead with greater clarity and purpose. Those experiences continue to inform my work, but they are no longer the boundaries of it. Instead, they became part of the foundation for a broader calling: creating spaces where people can pause, reflect, engage in meaningful conversation, and discover new ways of understanding themselves and one another.
My professional journey is grounded in both experience and education. I hold a Master of Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento, and a Bachelor of Arts from Mills College. I am a graduate of the Professional Coaching Program at the University of California, Davis, a Professional Certified Coach, and a Certified Trauma-Informed Care Facilitator.
Whether I am writing, speaking, facilitating a conversation, coaching a leader, or meeting readers after an event, my hope remains the same: to encourage people to honor where they have come from, understand what they carry, and imagine what might be possible next.
To live ANEW is not to leave the past behind. It is to understand it, learn from it, and choose what comes next.
